So you've decided to train at Northeast, Thank You!  Your next step is to get enrolled.

Enrollment with NEH is simple, just gather the items listed below, and then call us to set up an appointment.  On enrollment day you'll complete an application, we'll review your individual scheduling needs, and assign you to an instructor.

That's it!  You're on your way to becoming a helicopter pilot!

On enrollment day, you should have:

.     Original US birth certificate, valid US passport or US Naturalization document

.     A valid driver's license or a photo ID

.     Current FAA medical Certificate

.     $150.00 Enrollment Fee

.     A refundable $400.00 account deposit

.     Training funds secured

Birth Certificate or US Passport:

The Transportation Security Administration requires flight schools to verify identification by a strict set of rules.  These rules state that we must see an original birth certificate (we are prohibited from examining a copy), a valid US Passport, or a US Naturalization document. If you are bringing a birth certificate to meet this requirement, please make sure it's the original.  If you do not have your original birth certificate, you will need to obtain a new one.  This is usually done through the town offices in the county that you were born in.

Photo Identification:

TSA also requires validation of a photo identification, which can be your valid driver's license.  Photo identification must not be expired.

FAA Medicals:

An FAA Medical exam is required for any student that will fly an aircraft solo.  This is one of the first goals you will work toward as a training pilot.   It can be a shocking disappointment and unnecessary expense to arrive at the time to solo and learn that you cannot continue to fly, or get a license due to an unexpected medical issue.  Therefore, Northeast requires you to have your medical exam before you begin training and bring it on enrollment day.  This both ensures that you will keep moving steadily toward your goal, and be able to achieve it when the time comes.  Make sure you get the student pilot certificate medical.  See our FAA Medical page for details.

Enrollment Fee:

There is a one-time $150.00 enrollment fee that is due upon enrollment.  If you decide after the enrollment paperwork process begins that you will not train with us, the $150.00 is not refundable.

Account Deposit:

As an NEH student you will be required to keep a refundable $400.00 balance on your account.  We will setup your account with the initial deposit during enrollment.  Please note: the unused portion of this money will be refunded to you after training is complete, or if at any time you choose to discontinue training.

Training Funds:

[top]

Students generally succeed in their training when they can continually progress.  The best way to do that is to be able to train on a consistent basis.   In order to keep your training moving, you will want to ensure that at least a portion of the funds needed for your rating are available to you.

If you choose to pay as you train, we can accept Cash, Checks and Credit Cards (No American Express). Except for the deposit, you do not need to have additional funds with us, but we suggest that you have them available to you when you enroll so you can progress steadily.  This is not required, but strongly suggested.

If you chose to finance your training, your loan will need to be secure before enrollment day.   SLM Financial career training loans can take several weeks from the time the loan paperwork has been submitted to reach your account, so you will want to plan accordingly, and begin training after an initial disbursement is obtained. If you decide to finance your training through SLM Financial, you will work closely with Northeast Helicopters (owner, Rhonda Boulette) during the application and loan processing stages.

ATTN:  Non US Citizens:

If you are an International student that plans to train at NEH, you need to go through our International Helicopter Student Enrollment Procedures.

Refund Policy:

If you decide to discontinue your training for any reason, and you have personal money (not SLM loan money) on your account, your unused money will be returned to you by a  NEH company check.  If you have SLM loan money on your account, and you decide to discontinue a $100.00 processing fee is deducted from your balance, and the unused SLM money will then be returned to SLM, not to the student.  Northeast Helicopters is required to return all unused loan money within 30 business days.
